Hey guys just need some suggestions. I usually surf fish on Folly w/ very positive results. Came out to Edisto for a few days and I’m wondering if y’all have any suggestions for the surf fishing here? Not much beach out here compared to Folly and noticed a lot of drop offs unlike Folly. Do these differences matter?
I have done best at Edisto fishing the jetties around high tide. If you park at beach access 28 you should have a very short walk to the beach and have multiple jetties to choose from. Plus there usually isn’t much traffic or swimmers compared to other areas of the beach.
Please post a report if you get a chance.
I’m just staying at a house with some friends and figured I’d fish the incoming tide around 330 today (that’s when I did my best at folly). Normal cut shrimp on the bottom. Ill post my results later
if your fishing the rocks, toss your bait in close to the rocks.
if you on the beach put it right behind the breakers, you dont have to cast a mile out and use small hooks. #1 or 1o. peal those shrimp.
the holes and sloughs you see at lowtide, fish them as tide come in.
let us know how you do.
Same basic concept as folly. Thanks!
Caught a few small sharks & whiting. Fun day
Go to Botney Bay. Head south when you hit the beach. Go about a half mile to the live bottom and fish there.
