Took the Wife & Daughter and one of her friends to the state park to swim and enjoy the beach. Brought a couple of rods so I would have something to do…besides watch Bikinis walk by.
Had a big rod out for Shark hoping to get the Daughter’s friend on one. Only thing that hit it was a big Ray, which managed to drag the rod and rod holder into the surf. Thought I had the drag backed off enough to prevent that.
Rod was moving fast into the water and maybe a foot deep when I dove onto it in the waves. Managed to grab it, and caught the blasted Ray. Lost one contact, my sun glasses and was soaking wet. wasn’t planning to get INTO the water.
Fellow next to me got a good laugh out of it. Wife and the girls were off on a bathroom break, so they missed the whole thing.
