Hey guys, my first time surf fishing. Down until Sunday. Any advice would be appreciated.
Hey man. Pick up some shrimp either dead or alive and concentrate on either side of the rock jetties. I use a simple Carolina Rig with as light as weight as the surf will allow. A Carolina Rig will allow you to feel the bite much better than a bulky surf rig. Don’t hesitate to cut up the smaller fish you catch and use them for bait. Good Luck!
Use a double hook chicken rig, #2 circle hooks and 4 oz pyramid sinker. Shrimp and fresh cut bait.

Thanks guys. Low tide or high tide better?
Josh; go to surf forum and check out the post on how to read
the water to find the troughs and slews. tons of info and sketches there and lots of pointers on hi/low tides and when/where to fish them. Read posts of runbabyrun ; dparker and the others posting there; you’ll not get any better info anywhere ; go catch um and post results, good luck !!

When you see “Old Glory” waving in the breeze, know that it is the dying breaths of our fallen hero’s that makes it wave.

There are some really good post on reading the beach. I don’t tell anyone where I surf fish or how the beach is there, other than read the other post. Reds, trout, flounder, black drum, whiting, and sharks of course. One tidbit, beaches only accessible by boat tend to be better. And exposed mud is your friend.

Try walking up the beach above the state park to the inlet at low tide and fish it till the tide fill in! Try cut mullet and mud minnas!
