Folks, it has been a long time since we’ve seen these words…Edisto Fishing Club, however we are still here and eager to have a tournament and a meeting.
I spoke with Ron in the world famous Piggly Wiggly over the weekend and he is also ready for some tournament action.
The Reds and the trout bite is pretty good right now, with the Big Reds just off the front beach, but I want to hear what you guys want to do.
We enjoyed the redfish tournament last year even though I had boat problems-thanks to Dan at Edisto Marina for bailing me out by letting us borrow his boat!
As long as Ron and Caleb are fishing in the thing everybody else is fishing for second place. those guys are just way too good!
One thought would be whoever can get the closest to a slam or assortment of reds, trout, sheepshead, flounder - the flounder have probably moved out or moving out though. Also could make a very long day
anyways, I usually win catching the biggest buzz - so whatever you guys decide is great with me - I’m a believer in democracy.
I’m interested. My boat is not big enough to go offshore more than 1-2 mi, so anything inshore would be good. I dont plan on winning or even placing but you never know. But lots of fun and will be good to meet some folks.
I like the redfish tournament as well. I’ll be back in town in the morning and I’ll get with Striker and a few others to get this thing underway. What weekend is looking good for everyone. I’d say the weekend after Thanksgiving, but it’s also Carolina vs Clemson weekend, so probably not a good one. Whats everyone think?
Wow!! is there still an Edisto Fishing Club? I thought my dues went towards a trip to the Bahamas for someone. Lots of folks in town for Thanksgiving Weekend, but no parade. What’s up with that?
