Edisto help

I’m going to be down in edisto this weekend and I’m interested in fishing the surf around frampton creek or Scott’s creek but I’m struggling with where to park to access that section of beach. Any tips? I’ve fished about the 700 and 3200 block of edisto and done ok but wanted to try and new spot.

Sounds like you are fishing in the creeks/rivers? There are a lot good spots on the beach on Edisto. Lots of groins most rock some wood. Fish down current of them in the holes and cuts. Fresh shrimp small hooks will catch everything. If you’re into it, heavy line, big hook, big chunks of bait…pretty Sharky down there. Up for a hike? Park at Edisto State Park, hit the beach and walk left. It’s about 1-1\2 miles where Framptom Inlet dumps out. Excellent spot but it is a healthy walk hauling gear, in the sand.

If you take the street that the park is on Palmetto Blvd and keep going round until you see Edisto street and Make a left and part there. Once you hit the beach make a right and walk all the way down until you see a tiki. Someone carved it. There is good fishing there plus almost no swimmers. I caught shark whiting and pompano there. You could try Botany Bay. I have also fished under the bridge right there by the serpentarium before and caught a few nice fish. I know it’s not ideal but there are fish there.

Thanks guys! I appreciate the advice

Email or message me I’m down there fishing probably about every three weeks. I just got back last night as a matter of fact.

I am always looking for places to fish around Edisto from the bank so I am glad you asked this question.

Pay a couple of bucks and park in the state park…one mile walk to Frampton inlet. Good flounder fishing there with live minnows and grubs.
You can usually get away with parking on the right-hand edge of the pavilion parking area. Never had any trouble doing that.
Another god bet that almost nobody takes advantage of is to park on the highway shoulder along the marsh flats soon after getting across the big bridge - then sight fish with surface plugs for tailing spottail bass (red drum)at and around high tide.
If you want to try for pompano on the beach, dig your hands into the sand as each wave recedes and use the sand fleas you catch.
