I have surf fished at Edisto Island for years and done well. This year we will be bringing a 21 ft center console to fish from. We will be docking it at the marina. I was looking for some fishing tips from a boat at Edisto. We will be there July 4 Week. I was thinking of trying the creeks, the sound or maybe going deeper ( weather permitting). Any tips would be great. Thanks for the help.
What kind of tips do you need? Spots or technique?
Not sure if the fish are there yet, but the marina will give you coordinates to “the rocks” just offshore from the water tower. There are some big reds out there…though I’ve never tried.
Also, get a “top spot” fishing map from the tackle shop. There are some spots marked on there in the area that produce fish.

If you set up on the channel ledge of the S Edisto and chunk some bait you can catch some grown sharks if you’re looking for some action. There is no shortage of them!

I am looking for spots mostly. Also what anyone is having luck catching right now. Any info helps. Thanks
quote:I second the "top spots" maps. Broke my transducer off the first day so I had no depth or gps but picked one up in Charlestown. Down here now for the first time and starting to get into them decent. Staying in The creeks pretty much picked up a short trout and a 25" red this am. Lost a couple of other decent reds. Tide seems to be a lot higher here than what I am use to in Georgetown. Found a few tailing yesterday afternoon but spooked them before I could get to them with the fly. Good luck and tight lines.
