This was awesome. I was waiting for a charter today at the Edisto Marina, and I saw this! Unbelievable. We have Manatees every summer, but I’ve never seen one this big. This also is the first one seen this year. I got in the boat and followed it to get these pix. Look at the size of it’s eye or nostril (not sure, was lucky to get the pic) on the 3rd pic. I could have touched it but didn’t want to disturb it.

You gotta love the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Very, very cool. I saw one moving down the beach a few years ago. It was awesome. I also laugh about it b/c I will never forget this family of oddballs right up the beach from us freaking out and yelling “it’s a sea cow!! it’s a sea cow!!”. We all got a kick out of that.
Just trying to learn every bit I can about saltwater fishing…

I’ve seen a couple over the past 20 years or so but usually in late July and August. I’m shocked they’ve moved up this quickly and that one is huge, that’s definitely a sea cow that thing is a sow! I guess we can say they are moving in earlier due to global warming… just kidding gang. thanks for the post!
