Edisto marina

I will try to answer all questions posed about the renovations at the Marina. There are NO new slips, the marina is being renovated EXACTLY as it was before. Same size slips, same configuration.
The work should be completed by the end of March.
The reason that the old square pilings are replaced by the new round pilings is that the old pilings (26 years old)were showing signs of stress cracks, and they were made from old technology. Additionally, the square pilings had a lot of stress due to the square constructuion not allowing a balance of stress points like the round pilings allow.

The new round pilings are also built out of a spun concrets technique which is mo’ better.

I can’t discuss what each slipowner is paying per slip, but will tell you that it was quite reasonable, and adds substantial value to the marina, and to the individual slipowner’s slip.

The Marina Store is open on abbreviated winter hours, and Steve Wallace is the manager. He is the former owner of the well known Hot Rod Blue.

Susie was not “let go”, but decided to take a better job. She did an excellent job. Steve also is a real professional manger, and understands the needs of fisherman. He will do anything to assist you.

The Restaurant and Marina Store is now owned by a partnership headed up by attorney Mark Mason. Exciting plans are in the works to completely rebuild the restaurant, Marina Store and fuel dock area…and hopefully in conjunction with the city , tie in to their adjoining property in order to expand the boat ramp and to have some synergy with the City’s proposed plans next door.

Hope this is helpful

Whatever the city’s plans might be, they need to find an investor to build a dry rack storage facility on part of that property.

I know the Huffines family has got enough pull around the area to make that happen.

That’s a great idea!! But the building codes around here are very strange.

Hey Huff,
Welcome aboard. Hope you and Madeline are good and planning on coming to the reunion.

You gotta love the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Any thoughts of adding a new beam scale or similar to be able to actually weigh fish larger than 100 lbs.? I’m still holding out hope…

They really need to put in a decent ramp, with no double-dog leg, and no restaurant customers driving/parking/walking in the ramp approach.

It would be difficult to prevent disabled parking up close to the building.

The Margaret Jane yes i did thank you very much. I meant to get back to you sooner. I have talked to him and we agreed to start renting April 1.

Sounds good CWR I will be there in April and will look you up. You get a better deal then what I had on price? $350 a month is kind of tough on a man.
