This might seem like a stupid question
But how is the best way to prepare a shark for a fish fry?

Prepare?

Cleaning them is the hard part. I have a pretty tough gut, but, dressing a Shark is rough!

Make sure to filet “all” of the red meat off, then cut into steaks.

The meat is surprisingly clean.

On the advice of Capt. Fritz, a couple of years ago, marinate in Italian Dressing, and grill them.

Or, prepare them as you normally would for a fish fry.

Bonnet Heads do eat good!

we grilled one last night that the kiddos caught over the weekend, had been a while and they wanted to do it again.

as MN sez: bleed, gut, ice, fillet, trim, milk soak, italian dressing for a day or two. LITE because it just has less oil, which is only good for flareups anyway. leftovers make good cold pasta salad with garden veggies and mayo

to Sman’s specific query, stop at the milk soak, house autry them chunks at 375, feeds a crowd with one fish
