Darren Smith and his family wore the black bass out at the 4KI. The weather was beautiful and we found the kitchen for the keeper bass! Lots of 14” bass for the grease. The bite was slow with squid, so after catching over ten oyster toad, we changed to cut mullet and this was the bait of choice for the rest of the trip. These fish were caught on live bottom with plenty on vegetation on the sea floor. You had to be right in the kitchen or the bight would be slow. These bigger bass constantly move around on the reef which makes every trip challenging. Awesome fellowship! Mrs Teresa outfished both her husband and son 5:1 she was on fire with most of the keepers coming from her drops!
