Spanish were thick at the North Edisto Nearshore reef. Morning bite. Plenty Black Bass, Grunts and Trigger at 4KI. Ended the day with a couple thick bonnet head sharks for the grill.

Being on the water is a blessing, catching fish is a bonus!
Buddy, When you are trolling Clark spoons are you pulling single spoons or are you rigging them behind a bird, on a tree rig or what? Are you getting many bites behind planers or with a downrigger?
Depending on what the weather does I may take my son down again this weekend and give it another go. Thanks in advance!
Trolling top with four rods. Two outside rods 100’ and two inside rods 50’ behind the boat at 5-7mph or 1000-1200rpms. Clark spoons any size. If they are thick around your boat, just cast into the school and do a steady retrieve that will work too. Good luck!

How deep are you running spoons and have you ever used any lipped plugs trolling specifically for Spanish? Same as kings just smaller?
Typically 1’-3’ deep. I’ve only used Clark spoons for Spanish. From what I’ve seen, gotcha plugs and similar top water lures work well too. When they are thick, almost any shiny lure with action will work. Clark spoons are less than $5 at Walmart, so if you lose one it’s not too bad.

Thanks again Capt. Buddy! We did not make it down this past weekend due to weather, but are anxious to give it another try soon. Best of luck to you!
Thanks cap, I really appreciate your reports. I’m stuck here in the upstate but soak in every bit of info I can. Again, thanks.
Try a small folded piece of alum. foil on a 2/0 hook, has worked wonders for me!
