Edisto reefs 7/17

Took advantage of the nice wx today and ran out. Hit the edisto offshore and anchored up on a piece. Wore out by AJ’s and had a big school of spades pass by but forgot to get jelly balls on the way out. Think I was too excited about the big menhaden we caug5heading out and forgot. Some bsb’s mixed in too. Huge tiger came up to say hi and try to eat one of the AJ’s. He missed out on a free meal. Water was beutiful finally at the offshore after weeks of chalky crap. Ran back to the edisto 60 but the Sirius radar starts lighting up with lots of reds and orange and it was getting dark towards the sound so we cut it short and ran in. Not a bad Friday

Glad you had a good day! Good to have the radar option.

What did you get the AJ’s on? Landed a few trolling, but can’t seem to get the knack of getting them to eat when we are anchored. Seems ridiculous. Just want some action for the girls on our next trip down.

Live menhaden pitched behind the boat on a circle hook is the easiest way. Butter fly jigs and shimano fall flats were working good too. Finally the funniest way to get them and to turn on stubborn fish is a large popper! Make sure to swap out trebles for single hooks…makes life easier and safer…my fave popper only has 1 single hook. Catch em up! Headed out tomorrow #128077;#127907;
