Never seen so many big Tigers caught in one tournament. Nothing like cutting rope out of your props at night thinking about one of them looking up at you…and your bud turning on the Q beam.
Sad thing. Is I’ve seen what they do with the sharks after these tournaments. Not all go to research. I’ve heard and seen teams drag there catches out into the sound and drop the dead shark out there

There is just some people don’t want to take the effort and cut it up
Those lazy ass people should offer that job to someone or some group who needs said meat. That’s just incredibly irresponsible and wasteful.

So…C & R shark event next year, same day? Hmmmm…Take wind outta their sails over there.
No matter how many variables I have control over, I never expect a bite. I only hope.

I also saw on FB about another tournament, I think out of Bennett’s Point. The organizer posted it in a fishing and boating group.
I asked what would be done with the meat and was given an answer of “you’re more than welcome to come get as much as you want.”
I replied with a note saying that they should contact some homeless shelters in the area, that I was sure many would send reps with knives and coolers to collect meat. I also told them that we have a chapter of Farmers and Hunters Feeding the Hungry that would probably be more than interested. Hell, I even said to call the news…free advertising and they certainly would get some interest in people to come get the meat from it.
As far as the Edisto tourney, from this backlash I would imagine they won’t have it next year. I also don’t think they’d be interested in a C&R tournament. They do this one for the crowd at the dock, and little more I would imagine.

I sure hope those guys didn’t incur too many steep fines. That means the annual ADO kegger will have to switch to the beast.
This is making national news as I’m hearing about it in Chicago. Also see its on Yahoo’s front page too. They are gonna have fun with all the calls/emails.

I didn’t suggest a catch n release event with them involved in any way. I meant we should start one to directly draw press away from that one. Land-based & C n R. The thing is, no C & R guys would probably be interested because they don’t need glory or photos or $$$ because they tend to be REAL about what they do.
