we shrimped about 4-5 hours on Sat, at Morgan Isl on the ocean side, shrimp never got thick…finally got a pretty full cooler, sound was flat, … Sunday AM, cooler (packed) in two hours on the flat, wind was out the North but very dooable. Great start for me! Put up about 45lbs, my half, at it again Fri, come on out. Size was medium large to large, excellent for the first of the season.

Bert,
Sounds like things under control. I would love to go - problem is with Dayco - I am starting to work on budgets which means most of my weekends are spent working. If I see a free one, I will send you an e-mail.
Thanks for the offer.
Good job on the shrimp -
Tough loss Saturday night.

We were on a sunset cruise about 6:30pm behind Morgan. we saw a few shrimpers out in the sound and a few in the ICW. I stop to take a pic and listen to the weather radio. I hear a severe storm warning for Charleston and Colleton until 7:00. The storm was headed Southwest. The whole time I had blue skies and sun to my face. I turn to look back to the Northeast and see the meanest collection of thunderheads that I have ever seen. I tucked tail and headed stright into it expecting the worst but luckily the storms stopped and I was able to past under.
This pic was the beach side of Morgan at 6:30.

This is looking Notheast back up the ICW.

The storm clouds seem to follow along the ICW

Be careful out there!

Thanks to everyone that gave advice to me a few weeks back about where to go scrimpin down in edisto. We never coolered out but we caught more than we have before down there. Set up (I think) on combahee banks. I know we were pretty much straight out from Bank creek right on that flat in front of a few pieces of marsh. First 2 days it seemed like we got to the party a little late and the shrimp moved on after we got 1/4 - 1/2 cooler, but that was after 2-3 passes so we were okay with it. The next 2 days we had to work a little harder but did about the same. Good times with my dad and we ended up with more than we started with. Thanks again and we’ll try it again in a week or so.
