Fished Edisto Beach this past weekend. Bull reds are thick in the surf… Hooked six bull reds landed two. Sizes were between 46" and 36". All caught on light tackle so it was a blast.
Side note is that also caught about 5 dozen whiting, 1 dozen blues, 5 sharks, and some very large stingrays. (Lot’s of shrimp in the creeks as an added bonus. Went down Friday night at low and quickly made dinner…)

I catch whiting. If I get one caught in the belly I keep it back. Filet it, scale it, and cut it into pieces. I only use size 2 hooks so the bait isn’t very large… fresh is more important.
