I mean, I give the kid credit, he was smart enough to tell the reporter everything he needed to so that he can get laid showing the article to a girl who doesn’t know any better. But c’mon, a lemon pulling 500 yards of line? Needing a harness?!? My MXL on my jigging rod could have landed that shark. A little embellished to say the least.

Draw suckulently upon my pubicular sack! Notice how I didn’t say anything about the fish itself, but rather the manner in which he claims to have caught it. 500 yards and a harness? Give me a break!
Not sure why you question the “manner” in which it was landed? 500 yards is no problem for a reel that will hold 800-900. Right? And a MOST of the shark guys use harnesses…I would, if was targeting something that could be 10-12 feet long and 300-400 lbs.
And it is Still a great Catch! You will probably NOT be able to belittle THE TRUTH.
I think if it was a Bull or a Tiger, I wouldn’t question 500 yards and a harness. Lemons fight like sand tigers do and I wouldn’t even describe it as dead weight, but more or less thinking it was a missed fish, until seeing the tail flop about on the sand. They are impressive for taking pictures, but certainly not known for fighting. And thats the point I’m trying to make.

IDK about that. My boy and I caught a big lemon last year and it put up an admirable fight.

Any fish that big has to be an experience to catch I mean he’s just a kid and probably blew his mind, heck it would have blown mine. All I can say is haters are everywhere and im glad to see the other members sticking up for this kid. It’s a great catch and I don’t see why anyone should try to question any of it

This localsonly tool probably doesnt have a fish to compare to his lemon. A 10’ lemon is not a 7’ lemon, but both are still on a different level than a sand tiger. I bet this asshole fishes a lefty reel or something silly.

You asked. Here it is, my biggest to date. Took me 4 1/2 hours to reel in on my Everol 14/0, taking almost 1000 yards of line. Good thing I had my harness.
Thats a big fish by anyones standard . Steven had to of done allot of things right to get that one on shore dont get why people are so quick to jump on others-most of the time they dont even have all facts needed to make an educated decision give the young man a break hes clearly worked hard and put in his time on the beach and deserves praise not criticism. If I may also add the amount of posts someone makes or there age should not be a scale to whether they know what they are doing or not.
