Haven’t posted in a while as work has been all-consuming during most of the spring.
I went out to Sullivan’s Island very early Sunday morning with a bait bucket full of mud minnows. I fished around the rocks at Stations 30 and 31. Caught about 10 little reds, 3 little trout and a keeper flounder. Not sure if it qualifies as surf fishing, but I we spent the 1st week of June on the NC OBX and the surf fishing wasn’t very productive. Thought I try something a little different and easier on the tendonitis in my right arm.
Sorry no pics. When I fish alone I don’t like having to set everything down and get out the cell phone.
Anyway it looks like some of you are doing well in the surf, especially Mr. Parker and Run Baby Run.
Great job Jack. You got on um real good. Mr. Parker is shaming me this year as usual. Hopefully fall will bring a few fish. My buddy has hit the Outer Banks the last several years and has said that he has not done good at all. Thank you for the report and glad you got out. Take care Sir.
Good to hear you getting out Mr. Taylor. For sure a good “catching” morning…sounds like you slammed it! Those Rat Reds are fun to catch. Hit IOP on Sunday, current was ripping a bit, water was really dirty, and FULL of swimmers . Managed a hand full of baby Whiting and Blue Fish. The summer time pattern is here.

I went out solo on sullivans Sunday too. Was down by station 22. Caught 5 whitings, one small blue, and little black tip. Was using shrimp and whiting. Got there at sun rise, ended up leaving at 1030 to avoid catching someone.
