Hit the beach at low tide this morning around 8am. Threw my first rod out and had a bite instantly. It was a smaller redfish i think around 20 or 25 inches. It jumped out of the water like 15 times and finally got free. After that i casted back out and got my first bull red 38inches. Man i was so excited. I hadnt seen anyone all morning. But just as i caught it a lady was walking down the beach just in time for a picture. 30 mins later i hooked into another one. This one was bigger 42 inches.
I was starting to think i was doing everything wrong. Turns out i was doing it right but the fish werent around. Also thanks everyone for all the help i have gotten on this page. I know i wouldnt have caught as many fish as i have.
I was using a double drop steel leader with a 3oz spider weight. 1/3rd of a cut mullet on a 5/0 hook.
