After a baby 10" blacktip in the surf, I hooked into something big, lost it, and then landed a 2.5 foot black tip. at IOP this morning. Not huge, but it’s a start!
The little guy was on squid, the bigger one was half a whiting.

Not an expert on Sharks, but I don’t think that one is a Blacktip. Looks like a Sharpnose.

Without seeing the teeth, 99% Atlantic Sharpnose. They are the most common in close. Right now this years pups are everywhere, Nice catch!
Keep puttin’ baits out. More will come!
Yeah definitely a sharpnose and are everywhere right now! That’s the only kind of shark we’ve seen get pulled up on the pier so far.
