Honestly I am contemplating going for a big blue just so i can drag it on the boat take a leak on it bash it in the head a couple times and then put it back on the water and then post it on youtube for skinneej’s viewing pleasure. I can almost see his face turning red and him pounding his fists on the computer desk. And then at the very end i would look at the camera and say “I don’t know what I’m doing”

I am not “bashing” the original poster. I am bashing the guys who are bashing on the people who originally bashed the poster. If you understood that, then you might understand my motive for posting. It’s certainly not because my feelings were hurt that a fish died.
If anyone actually thinks that someone who knew they weren’t supposed to put a billfish on the boat did it anyway, took a picture of it, AND posted it on THIS website then they need to re evaluate. That makes NO sense. It is OBVIOUS to most everyone that they did not know and have now learned something the hard way.

Even inshore guys that have never been offshore in their life know this. The less you handle a fish, the better chance it has of surviving. Are you going to honestly claim that there is a possibility that they have been living in a cave for the past century and didn’t know this?
I know 5 year olds who understand that taking a goldfish out of an aquarium and drag him across the ground isn’t a good idea for the gold fish!!! They aren’t goldfish experts!!! Don’t be so naive…

Why is South Florida crap compared to Charleston? Don’t the same pelagics that come to Charleston come through south florida first? 
Also, I fished in Oregon Inlet with a very well known captain. We caught an 84" bluefin tuna.
The mate lip gaffed the fish and drug him thru the tuna door. The fish was 12" too big to keep so we took our pictures and slid him back out the door.
My question is: shouldn’t he have known better? He is an experienced charter captain with years of knowledge.

Sails = I think so, but south florida needs a good winter with NE fronts to push them down which didn’t really happen this year.
Marlin = Very few and far between in the florida straights
Dolphin - I talked to Don Hammond a year or so ago. If I remember correctly the dolphin we get in Charleston come from the Abacos side of the Bahamas.
