Started off slow in the surf at daylight but picked up at 8 o’clock. 10 whiting 3 pomps 5 bluefish 1 spade fish Had to quit at 930 to cook breakfast. Went back for the low tide using bluefish for bait did not catch anything. Only a few baby sharks on my shrimp rig

2nd morning not so good. Few small sharks and whiting with one redfish bout 12 inches hanging out around beach front rocks.

Man. We tried those a few years ago. I had been drinking all day and they were just not that good to me. We iced them down right after they were caught and all. What’s the secret?

Trout, spade fish , and whiting off surf this morning but very slow fishing. Big ray yesterday eve that my son enjoyed fighting I hate to but I might have to try some different spots

Hey Catfish, Great post! I am down here surf fishing now as well and I am only coming home with whiting (which are delicious) but I want some more species. What bait are you using for the trout and bluefish? Thanks! David
Spots,whiting,spade fish ,and redfish in the surf yesterday. This morning had about 15 whiting. Using fresh shrimp peices on a three hook rig with small circle hooks. They are still spotty. Fishing seems to be better above the state park than below on palmetto blvd
Maybe the clouds and cooler weather will make them move a little more

Two redfish and two whiting this morning. Water was too rough plus rain ran us back in. Last full day here is today gonna give it one more shot this eve. I’m ready to see some fresh water.

Just what I’m used to and what I growed up on. Edisto is great for vacation as a matter of fact I wish I could afford to come down several times a year. I really want try a sept/oct trip or early spring trip. But for next year gonna shoot for the first part of June. Maybe more fish will be in the surf. Got everything packed up now heading back to newberry in the morning, got some big cats to catch
