Well I finally decide to go and sit tonight in a stand I just put up this past weekend and wouldnt you know it this girl had to walk out 30ft in front of me. Well as I looked at her I started thinking about all my quail, chickens, and bady ducks that have disappeared over the last year or so and well I decided to protect my ■■■■■ and let the lead fly out odf a rifle that I haven’t shot since last deer season. And its still on. I didnt let her go to waste I did skin her and ready to tan when it cools off. Estimated around 20 maybe 25 pounds. To all my birds rest in peace tonight.
Well, that is something we agree on. Salty is 100% right on this. There is a season on bobcats…heck, there is a season and/or bag limit for just about everything.

Actully I understand what everyone is saying and yes I understand there are laws in place. But when a nuisance animal of this caliber that comes into my yard and attacks my chickens which we have for meat and eggs my quail which one killed all 25 in one night and got all of my muscovey ducklings this year something has to give. And yes my stand is with in an eye shot of my pens where all my birds are kept. They are not free range. And I have multiple spots in my pens that I have had to repair due to something coming in. Before my tral cam broke a few months ago I had what im pretty sure is the same cat leaving my pen with one of my smaller chickens in tow. So i am allowed to protect my family my animals and my livestock especially when I raise them for feed.
I try to get rid of those pests too. We just want to make sure you don’t get in trouble somehow. Most are just trying to help here.

Welcome Happybirdfarm to the site. I would imagine the bird farm is happy again. Glad your sight was on and justice was dealt. I appreciated your consideration of not just killing the cat for a rifle test. I don’t care for shooting bobcats or hawks to protect quail. If quail had better habitat, they wouldn’t need protection…nature does best. When they’re your quail and chickens and the cat takes the easy way… she pays the consequences.
We used to raise chickens, had as many as 60 at one time, and bobcats and foxes gave us a fit, as did snakes. I’ve shot a few cats in my chicken yard too
