I’m heading down to stay at Edisto the week of 14-21 and i’m wanting to do some surf fishing and really any fishing. I was wondering what people are catching and using what? I have never fished or went been Edisto so any help would be great!

I haven’t done any serious surf fishing there in a while, but unless yo get better advice, I suggest you go up to Botany Bay, walk the long walk to the beach (1/2 mile?) and fish there. I believe that if you walk south from Botany you will come to an inlet which may produce good flounder. Sorry for the limited info; hope somebody else will give you some real help.

Talked with some guys that were walking from the Jeremy Cat inlet, north of edisto state park on the beach about a half mile, as I was walking to it to surf fish. They had caught 5 flounder and another guy pulled in a nice slot red while I was there. Expected it to be packed with kayakers, swimmers and other fishermen.

Also, down on the southern end of the island at the mouth of the S. Edisto many people surf fish down there with shrimp and catch small sharks and the occational whiting and croaker.
