Took off yesterday at 8 am and fished until around 10 until I went to pick up Haulin’ Bass at the ramp. Caught 10 trout to 18 inches, all released, just knocking about trying a new area.
Once HB and I hit my first drop it was game on! We caught 54 bass to 30 & 1/2 inches on a variety of baits…shrimp, mud minnows, Gulp! and HB took 6 on a fly. Great day on the water and great fishing with HB.
Wow. Nice day on the water. That last one is a beast.

I’m from the HHI area but now living in upstate NC and feeling a lot like a fish out of water… BUT, there is light at the end of the tunnel, I’m heading South to visit family for Thanksgiving and will have the opportunity to take my son, who teaches high school in upstate SC, on a fishing trip… I’m familiar with and have fished most of the area, but I would greatly appreciate advice from you…not looking for secret holes, just a little advice about creeks vs open water, deep holes vs oyster beds, South end vs North end, bait selection, etc… Thanks in advance for any advice that you can give me…
