I will be in Edisto August 16-19. I am looking for a few places inshore to fish for sharks, reds etc. I will be going to the reefs if weather will allow, but want some inshore areas as a backup. I am fishing with a 9 year old inshore and want to catch a few sharks,etc. I am not asking for spots but just general areas. Where is the best place to buy bait?? Any locations good for catching menhaden etc. or sabiki rigging spots. Any information will be appreciated. I also want to go to otter island I think I will have no problem coming in from the Ashepoo side and beaching boat I have a 21’ boat. Are there any other islands or beaches you can go to that I am not aware of? Anyone down that week and want to try and get together to fish just let me know. Thanks for all the help!!!
If you are going over to the inlet between Otter Island and PIne Island, be careful. It is pretty tricky, as it gets reallllly shallow over there. You gotta know where you are going.
Is the beach ok if you come up Ashepoo and not go betweeen the islands.
It’s an excellent beach. Be careful if going to the sandbar on the Edisto end of Otter when the tide starts coming back in, it comes quick. We have caught some decent black tips in front of that sandbar in around 12’ of water.
