Hot Dog sharks are baby Atlantic Sharpnose I think. Regardless, when the charter fleet talks about the bite on the radio when it is bad they say getting eaten up by the Hot Dogs. Foot long sharks that eat your good baits.
Hot dog sharks are chummed up with slurry of mustard and ketchup. To really get them biting start singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”. Be sure to get all fingers and toes out of the water if you are going to try this.
Y’all were right about the hotdogs. Kids had a blast off the dock this afternoon. Must have caught 20 or more in about a hour. Then they started crabbing . So guess what was for supper? Headed to Fripp island tomorrow to check it out.
