I will be coming down friday and am trying to decide where to fish. I have primarily shark fished in edisto and have fished the channel toward bay creek as well as the point at access 30. I have never fished this late into the season and do not know what to expect. I am also considering yakking some baits out to see if any sharks are still in the area. Any recommendations on locations and what I can expect would be appreciated.
Does anyone know if the sand tiger shark ventures this far south? I have not seen any reports of them being caught south of NC.
Live shrimp on a Carolina rig, can catch you some trout and reds along the banks around some structure, oyster beds, etc. Or using a jig will work too, talk to Dan down at the marina, he’ll set you up on the right colors and where.
We have a Redfish tournament Friday at the marina, starting at 8am if you are interested. $25.00 per person, winner takes 80%…the rest goes to the club. You are more than welcome to enter, just meet us at the marina Saturday morning at 8am.
Sharks this time of the year, seem to venture out to deeper water, but there may be some still hangin around.
