Penny, you don’t even need a hook to catch one of those sink sheepshead, you can just snatch them with your hands!

Penny how MANY hours have you worked this week??? I am a fishing dreamer too.If all goes well I will be taking my boat to Frankies tire to have the bearings and tire checked out then down to my boat mechanic in Ravenel.I am starting prep early so I can be on the water hopefully by March.I sure have missed it.It has been two years, but both knees are good to go and my crazy head “vertigo” seems to be under control. I fish usually by myself so it was alil dangerous. “did you buy that dish towel because it reminded you of a Sheepie”??

Yes Miss. Penny, PLEEEEEASE go fishing! With all of the drama on CF.com this past week, I think we all really need one of your posts to get the gang back on track. Heck, it might even count at community service.

I caught a 23 inch one today and 6 13 inch or smaller

hahaha…well subconsciously I may have bought that dish cloth because it looked like a sheephead ") I did go fishing yesterday and you know what…I caught absolutely nothing…not even a bite. …not even a hang…and had a wonderful time in doing so. Really… I got to spend the dayonthe water with Donnie and roo…to see the birds flying, diving, swimming, feeding and stalking along the waters edge…a hawk who humbled me by his grace and swiftness in catching a fish for himself …dolphin blowing. oysters spitting, marsh popping, the sound of water trickling from a small creek, and rushing and lapping along the boat…the drone of a old diesel in a shrimp boat…the fly over of the coast guard chopper that reminded me that God looks down at us, and watchs over us …and sometimes the coast guard too  and both are a blessing to have do so. The smell of marsh , mudd, salt and things that only the oceans and creek have filled my nose…and all of this filled my heart and soul…and reminded me again of how blessed we are to live in such a beautiful place we call home.

I cant wait to go crabbing with my daddy soon!!
these always remind me of how much I miss it:frowning_face:

Now that’s what I’m talking about. Thanks for the report. Catching is fun, but the entire experience is what keeps us coming back.

I feel like I just ate a warm chocolate chip cookie.

hahah…well whipe that crumb off your face!

by the way…we bought one of these stickit anchors from rick (729-9170)was in classifieds/swap topic. and love it!! its so much nicer and quieter than dropping a anchor…and holds really well!! I would advise getting a 10 footer…

Great pics as usual (except the one with the 'Roo in the powder blue sweater), Penny. Couple of questions:

  1. How do y’all store the anchor pin when you’re runnin’?

  2. Can you share a cost for the pin? I’ve been looking at some different options and am very interested in yours.

Thanks in advance.

“I’m not a hundred percent in love with your tone right now…”

Didn’t you say in your new year resolution that you would not be dressing Roo up anymore . Oh well, you made it for 2 weeks.

DWB…that’s her winter fishing clothes:)…so see I was just looking out for her!

the 10 footer was 65.00 7 footer is 45.00 again…would recommend the 10 foot. comes in camo also . we have a rope tied to the top…and it comes with a cap for the pointed end for storage and travel… we just ran the rope through the back rod holder and back up along the pole and then tied it through the front rod holder to hold it in place …as far as using it…goes in easy…comes out easy…

Dnr was scoping it out too as Donnie waited for me to fetch the truck for him, and the warden waited for his partmer to park theirs…was asking questions about what it was and how it was used…I told Donnie that he should have told him it was a shrimp bait pole for “quick getaways”…hahahahha… ??? well…maybe that wouldn’t have been such a good idea to say that after all. :)…but it was pretty funny at the time:)

Plus, with my poor memory, I can keep track how old the dog is getting by counting the accumulations of tags on their collars.

I count at least 4 “shot tags”. Close?

there are five on there…plus a 24hrpetwatch tag and her originaljohn ancum tag that is the size of a dime. its a warning to the cat who lives outsde that she is in the prowl…lol.funny thing is shes all tough until the cat turns around and hiss’s at her…then she hauls butt back to us

Dang it, I saw the two greens a blue and the red. I never count the silver ones. I think the main reason I leave the tags on is that each year they make just a little more noise. It give the cats a better better head start. Less chance that the older dogs will get humiliated.
