Hows it going everyone, new to the area.
Just moved down here from the New Jersey area and wanted to see if I can get some advice from some locals. I am a big time saltwater fishing up north but it seems down here its a whole new start. Left my boat in jersey and only got my surf gear and couple little spinners. I wanted to see if anyone has some advice on some good piers, jetties, or beaches that have been seeing some good action lately? I am currently living in the mount pleasant area and have tried the pier under the bridge with not much luck other than the little fish I could take home n put in my fish tank
Any advice is greatly appreciate
Go to the end of Folly Pier and talk to the king fishermen’s. They are a bunch of good guys that will tell you what they are catching and where to fish on the pier. My wife is from Jersey too, so we have something in common. If you have any more questions about fishing around here, you can pm me and maybe we can fish together.
Welcome to Charleston and the forum. A lot of good people on here. If I had any tips for you I would give them to ya but I’m learning myself. Good luck.

Hi there! I just moved here about 2 months ago from NJ as well so welcome to the area! My boyfriend and I king fish at Folly Beach and just within the last week we’ve seen tons of Spanish action here so it’s slowly starting to pick up.
Going out to folly to do a little surf fishing tomorrow probably about 1 pm. Ive been doing well with the Black drum, Reds and a trout. Anyone interested in joining PM me.
kevin, catch anything 2day.
Had few spanish hits, Alabama boys landed a small spanish, that was about it.
Hey Kevin I’m heading out on Tuesday for some king fishing. P.S. this is Patrick.
Does the pier have any anchors yet? I’m down to using one with 3 prongs and is so rusty it could give ya tetnis! Haha
