can anyone give me any idea if water came up as high as Matthew’s Flooding?
Word is that it did. I am trying to confirm where that is though.
Not too good, check out Edisto Beach Police Facebook page.
Talked to a buddy who didn’t leave, he said the water got higher than he has ever seen it in 50 yrs of being there! HIs floating dock was at 45 Deg up from the pier under water at least 3’ top of pine trees falling and blowing all over the place, said he heard that the causway to Baleys and Frampton had been washed out!
Causeway to Bailey is fine
I’m south of Charleston in Ravenel. Can’t say for Edisto, but the water was a foot higher here than in the last two years’ floods. Hope you managed OK. It was rough going here for a while, but the water finally receded about 12" from coming in the garage. Maybe next time I’ll invest in some sandbags…

Dunes are gone that they just replaced, Palmetto was covered in sand and water. Last year of improvements are pretty much gone in 24 hours
We stayed at my brother in laws restaurant inside windham and the flooding was close to what we saw during Mathew but not quite as high. I think the main difference was the surge came in and out quicker this go around. We briefly ventured out towards 1400 block and the water levels were a little lower than Matthew. Walked out on the beach there and the doons are gone
Also palmetto is not covered in sand again. Just a foot or two on the first couple of blocks
Able to get on Island this afternoon my property on Battery Park had 24" water, best on the mud line, more mud left behind this time, will spent my fishing time cleaning.Battery park was still Flooded had to wade in at 2PM found a new fishing spot 17 fairway load with tailing Red fish and the sand traps produce average above flounder Carolina rig with gulp swimming mullet 4" white was the ticket
Left property near Steamboat Landing Sunday noonish & came back around 5 pm today. Had water crossing Jenkins Hill Rd. in 2 places, lots of limbs around. Haven’t seen any severe damage & plan to check out beach tomorrow. Hope everyone came thru unscathed. Have chain saw if anyone needs help let me know.

and a sand encapsulated Cadillac.
This is Portia St looking from Palmetto to Jungle Rd. The photo was posted by the police dept yesterday. Our house is on this street and it appears the water level was about the same as last year. I have not been to confirm this, just judging from the pictures. I will wait until electricity is back and the Bi-Lo is open before coming back.

Ventured down to beach, Palmetto is blocked for travel, could see pile of sand by Fins & a dozer pushing towards beach on town side of Fins. BiLo folks were working inside could see empty shelves & dry packaged food just outside entry doors. Look like gas station was open as well as Subway & store on left corner of Jungle Rd. Rode down Jungle & around past Dockside to closed road on sound side. Folks near Steamboat Landing got electric back on today. Highway Dept. & Electric Company folks are working hard in area so kudos to them & a big THANK YOU. Lots of water laying around & lots of limbs to pickup.
God bless the boys at the power co!
I checked today the high water mark at our house was 12" above the concrete. Last year during Matthew it was 30", so much less flooding and not much other damage. Most of the renourishment sand appears to still be on the beach.

Along Docksite the surge was around 8 inches higher than Matthew but in other areas it ended up being a little lower as it didn’t stay as long as Matthews surge. Also not sure which section of the beach you went out on but a good bit of the renurishment sand is gone.
