Floods ruined the fishing

I lie. I was out of town in Texas for the past month on a rotation and have been itching to get a line wet. (Sidenote: being in Texas really helped remind me of how blessed I am to live in such a beautiful state and on the water, so easy to take for granted) Instead, Joaquin decides to come through and thwart my plans for the weekend. Today, I finally took a study break from boards for a few hours to test the waters. Thankfully, it was fall fishing at its best with some beautiful weather (and fish). Totals for the day: 1 bull red (just as I got it to the beach), 1 19" flounder, and 4 trout (16", 2 15", 1 13").

nothing wrong with that

Like I said in another thread concerned about the rain, you don’t know unless you go

I went so I guess I know black drum, red drum, flounder, whiting there seemed to be no affect on surf fishing except for the debris on beach and swift currents, they’re still biting. I fished about an hour at sully mid tide rising by the side of the fort close to jetties with fresh shrimp and mullet. All fish caught on shrimp but did have hits on mullet.
