How do people find sport in gigging is what confuses me. Flounder are not hard catch conventional way. Also not just killing off as many as possible…because I’m sure going to eat all that yourself

I take a lot of flounder each year gigging, but have found a more sporting way of doing it. Just like the old timers did, WALKING. Also, with the amount of entertaining we do each year, you better believe we eat a bunch of flounder! Just noticed my sponsor’s hat in the picture…NICE!

Are the PVC looking things in that pic some sort of underwater hand light for wade gigging??? Can I get a YouTube how to link for them they look sweet and simple.
They are sweet and simple. Lots of designs out there, and lots of videos. Built my own, carry a 12V battery in a bookbag that doubles as a flounder carrying bag. I can build them for about $40 a piece.
Very relaxing this way also.

I think it’s funny when people bash gigging for flounder. Sounds like they are jealous because you get more meat in the fridge. Soon they will be saying chumming has no sport because it attracts more fish to catch.

I am not bashing it, just simply do not understand it. I can fish from shore for hour and catch enough flounder for few meals. I do not feel need go stick a spike into 20 of them.
