Not the most experienced fisherman. Just wondering if anyone knew when the flounder will be around and possibly a decent spot to catch some??
they will be pushing in right now as a report from beaufort area indicated 2 doormats were caught on the near shore tire reef. i have only ever caught them on structure near the inlets or harbor. this is the time to focus on waves of fish entering the inner waterways through the inlets but it is a very hit or miss fishery in the CHS area. Seems they are more concentrated in the smaller inlets up near Myrtle making them easier to target. But right tide and water conditions (low incoming and relatively clear) can yield a few fish. be prepared to loose tackle to whatever structure you fish and if you arent loosing it you arent fishing it close enough. relatively rare to catch them on the open beach in my own experience.
