Fished Folly yesterday for about two hours from low tide around 4PM on the south end by the county park where the river comes in. It was very windy I was using shrimp because crosbys didn’t have any mullet in the freezer. It was very windy im telling you crazy at times which I didn’t expect since it said 3-4mph on the weather channel app. Anyways I got skunked again. Being new to salt water fishing this is discouraging but I guess I will keep trying, heck… I just love to fish and I did have a good time with my dog. It was much better than sitting on the couch watching college basketball that I don’t really even like
Yep, gotta keep at it, the good days will come. We all get skunked.
Phil,
try the windfinder app. Ive been using it and so far it has been very accurate. Keep at it. You’ll catch your redfish soon enough.

I agree, you have to keep at it. I do much more “fishing” than “catching”. Don’t get hung up on one spot or area. Take notes, tide, moon phase, water temp etc. I take lots of pictures, especially if the fish are biting. And definitely get a better app. I like the local weather apps. WCIV 4 is pretty good. And I don’t know how much time you have to fish, but 2 hours usually is not enough time. I try to get at least 4-6 hours on the beach. The surf changes quickly, if your not there you could miss out.
