hit a stretch of beach that hasnt been renourished yet this year to see if i could catch some whiting for future bait and maybe a snack. got out just after low and picked up a rat red right away. it was kinda slow for a bit then i picked up a nice #2 black drum then slow again. just before noon nabbed 3 whiting in a flurry then headed home. all fish caught on shrimp and on the bottom hook of the dbl dropper rig which has no teaser. was windier than i expected but the fish bit just the same. pretty well defined sandbars and troughs along some of the unrenourished beach right now. too bad they will have to go away. the next few afternoons should be decent.
