Headed out this AM to lounge in the falling tide at a old trusty rockpile on folly. Well all the SW/W winds lately have really flattened the beach in the area I chose so it wasn’t long before I had decided to bail on double drop rigs and throw light jigs near the rocks instead since the water on the top of the falling was trout green. Well I managed a couple specs with 1 being solid around 18" and I pulled off 4-5 fish mysteriously that all felt respectable for a few precious seconds. Caught a medium bonnet on crab and a medium sharp nose later and ended the day with one count it one decent whiting. Overall pretty slow but some quality action early on even if the hook up to landed ratio was terrible.
Good report SurfAngler, I’m hoping for some more structure build up in my are too. Looking a little flat but I’m hoping my trough will get deeper in time. It needs to shake up a little bit.
