Fishing this morning with my brother from 7am-1:30pm. Water was like glass when we got there and super clear, almost no wind. Fishing some top water and caught a few chunky keeper trout. Switched to some soft plastics on the bottom when the top water bite stopped and picked up four keeper flounder. Then we saw the Spanish come running through and we caught them on top water plugs and spoons. The Spanish stayed biting up until the moment we left, they were popping off every where. Wind picked up towards the end and could only use spoons. All but one Spanish was keeper sized, no big ones. A day to remember because, I finally got my brother on some Spanish! His first ever!
This was in the surf???
Evant T.
Yes, this was in the surf.
I also was out yesterday from 1 to 730 pm and caught blues, whiting, ladyfish, 3 ft sandbar, and lost 2 more big ones. The water was super clear and super calm. I didnt think to throw lures into the birds though. All was caught on shrimp. We saw lots of big fish jumping in the floxks of birds. Fishing is on fire right now.
Fishing has also been on fire for me as well. Me and my brother were out there today and couldnt keep our rods out. At one time all 5 of our rods went off. A bunch of sharks bluefish whiting and a good size trout on a gotcha plug off the surf. Super calm and clear water.
