folly 9/11

fished falling tide folly. no real trough where i wanted to go today but stuck it out anyway. had steady activity through bottom of the falling when the bait finally started moving down the beach. landed one mediumish finetooth, had 3 cutoffs. nothing ever touched the wire rig of course. picked at small whiting for a bit. cool fish of the day was one hand sized palometa. they are kewl fish. no big reds yet for me but it sure is looking right with all the bait.

Which end of folly was u at if u don’t mind me asking trying to learn a little about folly just getting into the surf fishing scene . I’ve heard some people say one end is better than the other so I’m lost lol

In the middle on a set of grions that has been good to me over the years. I’m sure there are many other good groins and areas on folly. People like fishing around 6S and I have caught fish on the beach up near the lighthouse. Just depends on where the good holes are from time to time. Like I said there wasn’t much of a trough where I was. I wond be fishing at low tide there again until we get a good NE blow to scour out some holes. Anywhere the water is thigh to waist deep at low tide between the sand and the 1st breakers Is a good start!

Thanks I appreciate all the info . Tired of demetre park beautiful place but just haven’t has that much luck there

That area is great when it’s great but kind of comes and goes. One of the best fishing trips I ever had was there when I filled up a cooler of fish, the highlight of which was a pair of seatrout that were over 2’ in length.

I’ve caught a nice 20" trout there at the rocks but that’s about it besides a few 4’ sharks . Seems like the big reds should start showing up might try it tomorrow
