Folly Beach County Park

Does anybody ever fish Folly Beach County Park? At the end of W Ashley? I was looking on google maps and it looked like you could park there and do some decent fishing. Thanks guys.

You can, but usually pretty crowded with swimmers. The north tends to have less people. Can’t go wrong either place. Good luck!

Is there a place to park on the north side?

There is parking on the side of the road. You will see when you drive down there. You can hit the surf from there or take the long walk out towards the lighthouse. I prefer taking the walk. Better scenery.

I don’t have a cart yet. Plan on making one, just haven’t got around to it. Good luck!

the orange balloon tires are more economical than the wheeleez. ive used both and the wheeleez are definetly better and i currently have the orange ones but the hubs break quite easily and are pretty expensive to replace. the tire hub combo is about 95.00 alone. if youre going to get balloon tires spend the extra 100 bucks for the wheeleez, last much longer due to stainless components compared to the plastic.

There are no fish on folly at all. Don’t even waste your time. Go to sullivans island, better fishing

Fishless im beginning to agree with you. I keep going to Folly and getting skunked but I think it’s me and not the place im fishing. I keep trying though I figure the fish will come sooner or later. Plus it’s so beautiful I enjoy it even when I’m not catching anything. Maybe that’s as sign im getting old? Wow I am getting old!!!

I went to the north end yesterday. I caught one sharpnose. It had bite marks all in it from the other sharks picking on it. Bullying even happens in nature!

It is a long walk…I was wishing I hard a cart and I didn’t even have that much stuff.

I made a plunger thing that helps set the 1 1/2 pvc rod holders. You just pump it a little and they sink right in…haha Here’s the video that put it on my mind. I didn’t try the “manual” method…I just took their word for it. It works pretty dang good most of the time.

First, Most, Biggest
I want to catch them all

I have been out the last 2 weekends and have worked the beach hard for hrs just to get a few, I cant catch any whiting dont know where they are trying squid and beautiful local shrimp from simmens seafood nothing working. I think the strong NE winds having some effect on bait, or maybe its just me.
