Hey all! This is my first post on charleston fishing. I’m new(ish) to charleston and am having some trouble on the surf. I’m from Florida and have done adequate fishing of most all sorts before. For some reason I just am not having any luck at the beach. I’m close to folly so it’s my beach of choice. I’m fishing primarily for reds in the surf. I’m rigging a 3oz pyramid free sliding to a metal leader with a 3/0 circle rigged with mullet (frozen from haddrells) or chunk bluefish I catch here and there. Haven’t landed one yet after multiple outings. Ive fished both the in and out tides in the wash and right past. No luck.
Someone please help advise me how to get on these reds! Any advice is welcome. I’ll have a cast net here soon so hopefully fresher mullet will come soon.
