There are 2 people walking around today that wouldn’t be without the folly beach lifeguards yesterday. It wasn’t pretty for a couple of seconds.
Also got to see the effects of a riptide first hand during the rescue. Even the lifeguards had to go lateral to the beach to get back in. Riptides are no joke.

I got caught in one once. I’m not the best swimmer so it was a bit scary, but I got out of it. What part of the beach was it?
A bad day of fishing beats a good day of work anytime.

it was right under the pier. By the time I saw it there was a little boy bobbing up and down approx. 3/4 of the way to the end of the pier. I guess his mother was out there doing her best to hold him up
