couple of ques…
- where does one even find parking for beach access for the public?
- are there any places that i should not fish at? don’t want to upset any of the locals…
- any other pointers i should be aware of let me know…
thanks…
When you get onto Folly Island, turn left onto Ashley Ave. Follow it out as far as you want to, I suggest you go until it dead ends. You can park at the end (I think it cost a couple dollars now) and walk all the way down the road (past the gate) and fish the inlet— a great place for surf fishing fun. It’s a fairly long walk but worth it. Pack lightly.
There are several other spots to park, but avoid the spot that has the large amount of parallel parking and the boardwalks. This is “the washout” area, as it’s called, and is always filled with swimmers that you don’t want to hassle with. Too much trouble. Head further north toward the end— far fewer swimmers and decent fishing for sure.
“Sire, it belongs in truth to the Church of God, in whose name I speak, to endure blows and not to inflict them. But it will also please your Majesty to remember that she is an anvil that has worn out many hammers.”…Theodore Beza
Park on the side of the road. Those parking robbers at the beach access want $7 or $8 per day. No hourly rates anymore and paid parking is 8 to 8 now. The washout area you have to pay to park on the side, but other streets are good as long as you have tires off road and parked on right direction.

Thanks for the info. going to go see if anything is gonna bite tonight.
