Day 1 of the SC DNR Blacktip Logging study was a success. Going to wait till after the crazy holiday to hit it again! Cut bonita… for anyone wondering.
What is the study doing/trying to find?
For the rest of the 2016 season the SC DNR is working with a few local teams collecting log information on sharks caught from shore. Next year they will be coming along on trips to collect blood samples and tag sharks. This is phase 1 of the whole study. I believe they are researching stress in sharks.
