Hit high tide about 1-3 pm. Fishing a bit slow caught a range just like the nuke guy. Redfish, black drum, whiting, pompano, and some huge pin fish. Apparently I was doing well as a lady who walked the beach said everyone she talked with had not caught anything.
I went out there the other day as well at high tide. I only could maintain one rod due to a squadron of nearly 10 kids following my every move (went with fiance and friends/kids) Managed a few whiting and a keeper black drum. They were released except one whiting which became bait, and was promptly inhaled along with my leader. was trying for a large red, but got a large shark instead apparently. bite was very consistent, once I could get free to cast a line in the water.
I caught a big pinfish (8-10") in the surf the other day. Are they common around here this time of year?
I catch pinkish all the time in the surf as well as in the marsh. I am not sure there is a time they are around more than other times. 10" now that’s a nice pin fish!
