You are entitled to your opinion, but I would like to know where your logic comes from. How are the 3 redfish I have killed this year a problem? All three were eaten (two by my mother and one by me). Other than mullet, redfish are the most numerous fish in the harbor. All winter the Bottlenose Dolphins gorge on them. How many redfish die each weekend from gut hooked or exhaustion after “release”. Obviously you have never tried to gig a redfish while it is warm…not that easy, and going gigging with my son is a blast. I’m sorry that you think it is sad, but I think it is a good time.It is strange how ethics come out over one fish and not over another…I bet you have one of those pretty little redfish stickers on your truck that say “Join ABC” or something like that. To each his own.

It amazes me that that is legal. Not suggesting it shouldn’t be by any means, but the fact that you can legally stab yourself a pile of fish like that staggers me.

You’re a commercial. Thats why your banging 40 flatfish every night, right? But why stab a lowly redfish, which you cant sellfish and for that matter really doesnt taste that great?

No biggie, its just jealous people. Nothing more. We had an awesome fish fry with mine. Its be glad to go kill that many more again if my friends and family wanted another one.
As far as the redfish, why do you care so much? He was well within the law. He ate it, his family ate it…I find your complaints laughable.
If he said he got tied of cleaning them them threw the rest in the crab trap, I could understand people getting upset. That’s not the case. All those fish are in peoples’ bellies right now…LOL.
Yes, you can sell as long as you have a gig endorsement (which I have) and yes I did put those fish on my counter…the only ones since we have opened! I’ll stick to posting fishing reports on Facebook.

I believe the twenty per person per day is long overdue for change. I cannot agree on the gluttony part because it was done legally. However, 40 fish in a boat in one night, then you go do it again another night, that is pushing the envelope. Just my opinion and to each his own as long as it is legal. (Abortion is legal but it ain’t right). Just saying.
