Fished from 10ish to 1ish, the small blues are on their summer harassment pattern. I was about to leave and one of my big setups goes off with a decent stingray, as I’m trying to release the ray without getting punctured the other rod goes off. So I cut the leader on the stingray and took off for the other rod.
My 7 year old thankfully was smart enough to ■■■■■ off the bait feeder switch on the 8000 D witch barely fazed the fish. By the time I get to my son he’s death gripping the setup which is now pinned against the sea wall in the surf spike drag screaming off line. Smart ass me cranks down the drag which stopped it for about 30 seconds, then whatever was on there hit the power and broke me off which sent me onto my arse to the amusement of my son. I think it was a big ray.
