Folly or Sullivan's?

Headin out Saturday with a couple buddies, one of which has never been. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve hit the surf around here, so someone talk me into one or the other

I fish Folly ocassionally, seems to be a lot more surfers most all year. Which is okay if they are the “local” kind and understand what causes good sets. Everytime I fish Sully I am overrun with DOGS! Plus for me IOP is just closer.

The dogs are almost enough to keep me at Folly. They drive me nuts. Had a beagle grab my line and make it about 100 yds down the beach before he decided to drop it

Agree about Sullivans, lots of people with dogs and never have any luck there anyway. Haven’t fished IOP. Folly has been good to me for the most part.

We used to go to Folly all the time when the groins were 5’-6’ tall. One weekend went to IOP, fell in love. Most of the year, after the crazy season, it is pretty quite. There are a few hot spots on Sullivans, the ones I’ve fished can trap you at high tide, if your not paying attention.

My favorite spot on SI is like that. Going with my 5 year old son tomorrow and we will have to be careful. That said, despite the dogs I usually have a blast on SI. I used to have this spot I really liked on IOP, but I quit fishing it for no particular reason. That was years ago now.

Yup, keep it local.
