I fished the folly park last night and it seems like that area is pretty flat and featureless was curious of what anyone knows or thinks about that end of the beach, I usually fish by the washout. I was fishing in front of the parking lot and had one hit a whiting the whole time. Is that area a waste of time?

It’s much better further down the beach from there. I like to fish there sometimes mostly because the beach is so nice.
All of our Big Sharks and bait is caught all the way past the park on the river side.
If move up the beach towards the pier, there is usually a nice long trough that runs from like 4th-9th. Check it out near low tide to find the deeper “holes” and breaks in the bar. You will need to do a bit of scouting to find the sweet spots.
Main question? You tryin’ to catch Sharks? or Fish?
Sharks? The inlet? WAY OUT deep, well past the last sandbar? ???
Fish? Got to find the deeper sections INSIDE the last sandbar. Troughs, holes, ditches, rips, rocks, groins, pilings, grass edges. Anything that creates washes/ eddies. Or fish near the structure itself. If you don’t get a bit in 10-15 minutes? Move a little, maybe 20-30yrds. Scan the surf for darker water. Watch the foam, waves. Got folks swimming nearby? GOOD! How deep is the water they’re in? Is it deeper than where you are? I guess you just gotta scout and move…move…then scout some more.
Now, there are fish outside the last bar. Especially when the tide is low and the troughs are emptying. If the trough/hole is less than knee deep, the fish usually move out and scatter. There can be holes as well.
Most of my largest fish were caught in hip deep water or less.
