Coming to folly beach in a couple weeks. Wondering what the parking situation is for fishing the county park day and night? and if there’s any good parking for the north end. Also if you can park at night in those areas? Trying to figure out as much as possible before I get down there. Less time driving around and more time fishing. Any help is greatly appreciated.
There’s tons of free parking on the north end of the island, especially at night. If you get there in the afternoon it will probably be full though. As for the park they lock the gate around 6 I believe. There isn’t really a lot of parking around the houses there either. Good Luck!
Thanks. Maybe I’ll catch a ride if I fish the south end at night.
If you want to fish the South Folly Inlet there is a couple things you should know.
Do not park inside the gated lot after dark. You will get locked in and have to call FB Police to let you out. We park on the street right outside the gate. Also check tides, at high tide you will have to wade through knee deep water to get out the the inlet. Also bring heavy sinkers… We use 4 to 6 oz sputnik sinkers with the anchors zip tied down. The current rips through there pretty fierce. Best of luck to you!
