Folly Pier http://www.surfchex.com/follybeach-web

Saw some dudes throwing sinkers at surfers the other day… not cool at all. Walk and get the pier manager to call the cops and let THEM deal with it.

True, the surfers were too close, (sign says 300 feet, law says 200 feet, which is just wonky) but if a fisherman throws a sinker and hits somebody in the head, it could be devastating for both parties involved.

Also begs the question, Why weren’t they fishing the structure instead of chucking the bait out onto nothing but sand? It was almost as if they were trying harder to hit the guys on surfboards than they were trying to catch fish.

Be smart :slightly_smiling_face:

Not saying casting sinkers at people is right it is wrong, but I take it you’re not a fisherman? It’s not “nothing but sand” its the surf a very productive place to fish. If your going to surf right next to the Peir theres a chance you could get hooked or hit with lead it is a fishing Peir. That’s why there’s a city ordinance on keeping a distance from the pier to keep people from getting hooked or tangled in people’s fishing lines.
